Synopsis

In the Unidad Vecinal Portales, also known as Villa Portales, a group of teenagers who have been friends for years, live together united by skateboarding. Through their conversations we delve into their humor and what is important to them, their uncomfortable opinions and what really unites them as men and friends.

  Born on March 20, 2001, in Arica, Chile, Nicolás Romero is an Afro-Aymara filmmaker. Since 2020, he has been studying Film and Television at the Faculty of Communication and Image at the University of Chile, where he has created works such as «Luup» (2020) and «Are You Happy?» (2021), both featured in the Chilean Cinema Day Showcase at the Museum of Memory and Human Rights.

  «Secret Kings» is his debut documentary, premiered in 2023 as part of the Emerging Shorts Competition, and awarded the Special Jury Mention at FIDOCS 27. He is currently working on the documentary short film «We Enter as Blacks, We Leave as Afrodescendants,» exploring the Afro roots of the country.

  Gallardo

  Producer

  Born on September 6, 2000, in Illapel, Chile, Isidora Gallardo has been studying Journalism at the Faculty of Communication and Image at the University of Chile since 2020, with a growing interest in documentary filmmaking. In 2023, she studied Audiovisual Production at Carlos III University in Madrid, Spain, participating in the creation of documentary and fiction short films.
