Another Sun is a film set out to invent, while investigating, the legend of Alberto, a Chilean international thief, made prisoner in Europe and murdered in Chile at the age of 29. To do so the film crosses two territories, linked by a colonial history: the Atacama Desert in Chile and southern Spain.
Director
Francisco Rodríguez Teare is an artist and filmmaker living between Chile and France with a moving image practice working predominantly with video and installation. Since 2015 he has been been creating film and video works and exhibiting them internationally in both film festival circuits and contemporary art film festivals as well as in contemporary art contexts. Most recently his work has been presented at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, FID Marseille, CPH:DOX, Courtisane, DocLisboa or Viennale.
Producer
Chilean producer, film programmer and feminist activist. From her company, Araucaria Cine, she has produced the films Muerte Blanca (2014), Nunca vas a estar solo (2016), Lettres à l’administration (2017), Petit Frère (2018) Inmersión (2021), El veterano (2022) and Another Sun (2023). His productions have won awards at Berlinale, Locarno, Karlovy Vary, DOK Leipzig, FICGuadalajara and distributed internationally. She is a founding member of the Association of Independent Producers API CHILE and president for the 2019-2021 term. She was chosen as the Chilean representative for Emerging Producers 2019 JIHLAVA. Since 2012 she has been working as Programmer for FICVALDIVIA.
Producer
Quentin spent his life between France and England as a child. He loved cinema from the beginning, but became passionate during his studies at La Fémis. In 2016 he created Don Quichotte Films, a Paris based film production company, with Yannick Beauquis. Together they have produced more than 20 films, fiction, documentaries and experimental, that travel around the world. Maxime Martinot, Nicolas Gourault, Gala Hernandez Lopez, Francisco Rodriguez Teare are some of the directors he has worked with.
Producer
After studying in Paris, Alice Lemaire settled in Brussels to devote herself entirely to cinema. She worked for Wallonie-Bruxelles Images to promote and export Belgian films abroad, and was part of the Boostcamp committee for female filmmakers. Today, she works mainly as a producer for Michigan Films and develops resolutely singular arthouse films. She has produced documentaries and fictions that travelled through international festivals : D’un chateau l’autre by Emmanuel Marre (Locarno 2018), Petit Samedi by Paloma Sermon-Daï (Berlinale 2020), Aya by Simon Coulibaly Gillard (ACID Cannes 2021), Les porteurs by Sarah Vanagt (IDFA 2022), It’s raining in the house by Paloma Sermon-Daï (Semaine de la critique, 2023).
