Cobija is a portal in time where the past, the present and the future of this simple fishing community that lives free and away from the urban maelstrom converge in the heart of Chilean Atacama Dessert. At the same time, it is a letter in which I write impressions of the strong events that shook the village and myself after arriving there.
Director
She was born in Santiago, Chile. She began her career as the director of the clandestine news program “Teleanalysis” during the Chilean dictatorship. Her autobiographical documentary “La Hija de O’Higgins” (2001) premiered in Chile and abroad. “Dungun, la lengua” (2012) won the Audience Award at FEMCINE and Special Mention at the Chiloé Documentary Festival, 2013. “Cobija” is her third documentary. She provides writing and screenplay consultancy for films and documentary series, and is also a teacher at Chilean universities.
Producer
She was born in Valdivia, Chile, 1987. She studied graphic design and began her career in the film industry at international film festivals, later working on several audiovisual pieces as a production assistant; director’s assistant; and production manager. In 2017 she founded her own production company, CreAs Films. She has produced the following films:
