This is the story of Sofia, a young marine biologist from the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador who reunites with her estranged father by trying to find and save the biggest shark in the world, the Whale Shark.

Ignacio Walker is a wildlife documentary maker nominated for an Emmy for his work on the Netflix series Our Planet’s Great National Parks, narrated by Barack Obama. His career has led him to work on several films as a director of photography and to direct various cinematic works, including the award-winning Quito My Story. Sofía and the Shark is his first feature-length documentary as a director.
Ignacio has served as a local producer in Chile and Latin America for several BBC and Netflix series, in addition to various award-winning works under his production companies Chronos Cinema and Sakara Films.

Denis Arqueros is a director known for his work on the CNN Original Series Patagonia, narrated by Pedro Pascal. He has also been awarded for his work on the documentaries Las Mujeres del Pasajero and Discover Futangue.
