In a small village at the end of the world, Eugenio, a retired gaucho, and his wife Angélica live alongside Chola, the only sheep left from their past as ranchers. But their daily life is disrupted by the arrival of a massive energy project set to dominate the Patagonian steppe. While the community debates the new opportunities for development, they face the imminent transformation of their landscape during this final stage of their lives.
Director and Producer
Founding partner of the production company Viraje Films, filmmaker, and teacher. His productions include Kadima, El Tiempo Contenido, produced in 2022, Puede ser el Último Invierno and El Sol se Esconde en el Mar, which are currently in development. He edited the feature film Whitney, directed by Katia Lara from Honduras. Among his short films as a producer are Abran Paso and Chile-Algeria, A Story of Mutual Solidarity That Withstood the Test of Time.
Director and Producer
Lecturer with a Master’s degree in Art Theory and a diploma in documentary film. Her directorial debut is co-directing the documentary feature Puede ser el Último Invierno, currently in development. She has worked as a camera operator and editor on video art projects, as well as art director for national fiction short films, and has collaborated on interdisciplinary research that bridges various artistic languages. Founding partner of Viraje Films, producer of the documentary feature film Kadima, El Tiempo Contenido (2022), in partnership with Lucho Films and co-produced with Sónica Films, premiered in Italy, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile; producer of the documentary short film Abran Paso (2019), shown in Amsterdam, New York, Canary Islands, Colombia, Berlin, and Chile. Currently, she is also a producer at the independent cinema venue Sala K.
Producer
Filmmaker. In 2006, she made her first documentary, Reinalda del Carmen, mi mamá y yo, which had a long festival journey after its premiere at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. Her second and award-winning work, El Gran Circo Pobre de Timoteo, winner of the Chilean Film Critics’ Circle Award for Best Documentary of 2014, had its world premiere at the prestigious Visions Du Réel Festival. Her third feature film, La Directiva, premiered at the Valdivia International Film Festival and won the Best National Documentary Award at Fidocs 2017. She was the associate producer of the documentary Sitio 53, directed by Fito Gárate, which was the winner of the DOCTV 2010 project. She was Head of Content in the Culture Area at TVN and has been a content creator for Chilean and international TV for over 20 years. University lecturer, tutor, and evaluator in various educational and market settings. Member of the Board of the Chilean Academy of Cinema (2021-2023 / 2023-2025). Her production company, giachinofilmes, focuses on the production of high-quality audiovisual projects. She is currently developing two documentary feature films: Cosa Juzgada and Carne de Cañón.
