Synopsis

In a lonesome landscape at Chilean Patagonia, Román has been protecting for decades a sheep cattle from the cold snowstorms and the cougar threat. Now, he must face with Silvia, wife and weaver, the news from giant propellers that will arrive to the region. The tension between hope and threat, soon will be established in the landscape and his family.

    Álvaro Gauna (Santiago Chile, 1983)

    Filmmaker and founding partner of Viraje Films. Among his works as a producer, screenwriter, director, and editor are the feature films «Puede ser el último invierno,» currently in development, and «Kadima, el Tiempo Contenido,» which premiered in 2022 in Mexico and in 2023 in Argentina and Chile. He worked as an editor on the feature film «Whitney,» directed by Katia Lara from Honduras, currently in post-production, and «Buscando América,» a series in development. Among his short films as a producer, screenwriter, director, and cinematographer is «Abran Paso,» produced in 2019 with screenings in Amsterdam, New York, the Canary Islands, Berlin, Colombia, and Chile. «Laura» (2022), a fiction short film, was showcased at Fecich and the Lebu Film Festival, both in the Work in Progress section, along with «La desaparición de Lucy» and «Los Coches,» made in 2018.

    Fabiola Flores Cruz (Santiago Chile, 1986)

    Producer, researcher, art director, and videographer. Her directorial debut is the co-direction of «Puede ser el último invierno,» a documentary feature film in development. She has worked as a camera operator and editor in Video Art, notably in the performance «Cuerpo y Territorio» for the collective #capuchasrojasenresistencia (cine desde el borde, 2020), and has been involved in research in various interdisciplinary projects, including a publication in the International Journal of Morphology (F 1, v 29. 2011), collaboration on VIRAL by El rayo verde editorial (2022), publications on contemporary art, photographic collaboration in the magazine Bitácora Urbano Territorial (Colombia), and in Ediciones a89 (Chile). As an art director, she has been involved in national short films such as «Hasta morder tu corazón,» «El guardián de la semilla» (available on ondamedia), «Laura» (Fecich industria), and «Mi casa se quemó» (in post-production).
