Synopsis

A group of scientists explores the ecological and climatic history hidden in pollen grains. A particular way of traveling in time, looking at the planet on millennial scales. From collecting in inaccessible terrain to laboratory analysis, their work transforms their lives and our understanding of the planet.

    José de la Parra (Santiago, 1988) is dedicated to telling science stories through documentary film and new media, with a distinctive authorial style. He holds a degree in Film from the University of Valparaíso, a diploma in Science Communication from the University of Chile, and is the director of the documentary El nido de la Golondrina (2024), which won the Best Documentary award at the Santiago Wild and Arica Nativa festivals.

Distributor of the documentary El nido de la Golondrina (2024). Executive director of the Women and Gender Diversity Film Festival 2020-2024. She directed Templanza, an experimental microfilm (2020) showcased at Lago Film Fest, Portales en llamas at the Proceso de Error Festival (2021), and featured in the Memorias de Futuro exhibition by Nosotras Audiovisuales.
