Puerto Punk is a four-episode web documentary series that explores the rebellious youth of Valparaiso in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Through archival footage and present-day interviews with its protagonists, the series captures various expressions of resistance and counterculture-from the energy of parties, underground concerts, and street life to ecological initiatives and drug prevention campaigns.
Each episode reflects the passage of time and its impact on the protagonists, revealing how punk culture and Valparaiso’s identity shaped their lives. The series includes the following episodes: Puerto Punk, Save the Botanical Garden, Valinferno, and No to Pasta Base.
Director
Ricardo Salazar is an audiovisual communicator and self-taught documentary filmmaker. At 25, he joined the board of the Puertas Abiertas youth center Viña del Mar, managing cultural and social projects. His work led him to collaborate with other cultural centers in the city’s hills, documenting various events. At the same time, he pursued documentary filmmaking. His most notable work, Punk Port, received an honorable mention at the Docupolis Festival in Barcelona.
Producer
Miguel Montolivo (24), an audiovisual communicator graduated from Duoc UC, specialized management, and effects editing at Nah que ver producciones and in the portfolio for the web series Punk Port. In 2024, he joined as producer and editor for the documentaries Save the Botanical Garden and No to Pasta Base, under the production company Hard8producciones.
