Like water that flows and transforms, Son Jarocho travels from Veracruz to Chile, where a community absorbs it, adapts it, and makes it their own, reviving its spirit in every fandango, an endless song of resistance and memory.
Director
Isidora Torrealba, filmmaker, photographer, and editor. In 2023, she edited the documentary series ‘Mujeres Artistas.’ She directed the short films ‘Resonará tu grito’ (2020) and ‘La corteza de mi abuela’ (2018), as well as an autobiographical documentary in Morocco. Her work explores concepts of identity, memory, music, and culture.
Director
Marcela Fernández, transdisciplinary artist, directed «Agua» (2019), a short film about water scarcity and community resistance in Chile. She co-directed «Sacbé», exploring ancestral connections. She was the programmer for the Despertar de Conciencia focus at the 2020 Colchagua International Film Festival.
Producer
Ricardo Ferreira, director and producer. He directed and produced Chile Despertó (2020), documenting the social outbreak in Chile. He also directed the short films Si Uno Cae, Vendrá Otro (2020) and Parcas (2020). He is currently working on several projects in the development stage, including Un Eterno Verano. His work explores social themes related to death, transcendence, and memory.
