Synopsis

Sergio, a young winemaker, arrives at the «El Conquistador» estate in Pica, an oasis in the middle of the desert of Tarapacá. Together with the owner of the vineyard, he works in tasting events. He is captivated by an old letter that tells of the last harvest in 1937, marking the end of the industry in Tarapacá. The prosperous 400 year-old winemaking era was interrupted by the process of Chileanization as a consequence of the Pacific War, which forced the Peruvian inhabitants to return to their country. Sergio, inspired by the historical burden, decides to revive the tradition, thus the branch of «Oenology» is born in the local high school to introduce the new generations to persist for the rebirth of the industry in the region, promoting pride in cultural identity.
