Carmen Ibarra, at 85 years old, still plays tennis every day. She was a national champion for 14 years, a South American champion for four, and currently champion in the +80 category. Despite her achievements, she has never been recognized like her male counterparts. Carmencita, my grandmother, is a champion who deserves to be remembered in Chile’s history.

Alex Mayne is a geographer with diplomas in anthropology and audiovisual creation (Pontifical Catholic University of Chile) and film and education (University of Chile). He worked with Nicolás Molina on Pirópolis as a production assistant and on Humedal as a researcher and screenwriter. In 2023, he collaborated as a researcher on Vientos de Chile by Nicolás Gantz. He is currently the producer of the feature-length documentary Wapintu Quinchao, developed by the territorial table of indigenous communities of Quinchao, Chiloé. Additionally, he coordinates the project Recovering community memory through heritage cinema in the inner sea of Chiloé, led by the friends’ circle of the archaeological and ethnographic museum of Achao.
